  • New Stallion Facilities at Towcester Equine Vets

Posted on by Andy New Stallion Facilities at Towcester Equine Vets

These purpose built facilities are for the collection of semen for fresh, chilled and frozen processing. In 2015 the semen will not be exportable but dependent on demand we may seek DEFRA approval for 2016 for EU export.

We have already had quite a few visiting stallions who have tried and tested the facilities and given their seal of approval. We have put a lot of time and thought into making the area as light, airy and inviting as possible with a soft rubber, non slip surface. The dummy mare is positioned with a teasing box in front of her to allow teasing of the stallion with a live mare if necessary and for dummy training.

If you are interested in using our new facilities for your stallion or would like to come and look round then please contact Claire Booth or Becky Wallis at the Clinic.

Joined Towcester Veterinary Centre in 1991 and now a partner, Andy was instrumental in setting up the six vet team at the equine clinic at Plum Park.
