On Sunday 16thSeptember 2018, Towcester Veterinary Centre held a charity open day at our Towcester Vets practice. We wanted to raise as much money as possible for both Pawprints Dog Rescue and Alzheimers Research UK.
Pawprints UK started off as a Facebook Page helping to reunite owners with their lost dogs through connections with the local pounds. After the shocking realization that over half of the strays were being euthanised, they decided to set up their own charity. With dedicated foster carers and their own kennels, Pawprints have rescued hundreds of dogs that would have otherwise been euthanised.
Alzheimer’s Research is the UK’s leading dementia research charity, dedicated to causes, diagnosis, prevention, treatment and cure. Backed by passionate scientists and supporters, the charity is challenging the way people think about dementia, uniting big thinkers in the field and funding innovative science that will deliver a cure. Currently they are supporting dementia research projects worth over £31 million in leading Universities across the UK.
We are extremely happy to announce that we raised a total of: £617.16 with £308.58 being donated to either charity.
A big thank you to all clients who attended our open day and supported our efforts to raise necessary funds! We had a mixture of small animal, farm and equine clients there meaning the day was a hit all round.
Please keep an eye out on our Facebook page for future upcoming events.
