Small Animal Vet Internship 

Towcester Veterinary Centre is a mixed veterinary practice located over 4 sites within and around the historic town of Towcester, Northamptonshire. We are an RCVS accredited, independent practice, with a friendly team who are dedicated to delivering great service with a personal touch. 

Our Small Animal practice in Towcester has attained Tier Three status and includes a hospital plus 2 smaller sites, and as part of your internship you will have the opportunity to work in all three areas, gaining exposure to both first opinion and referral cases. With two surgery certificate holders and one medicine certificate holder there is opportunity to work cases up to the highest degree. Laparoscopy and endoscopy kit, as well as full ASIF/AO orthopaedic kit and an in-house lab support this.

We offer fully mentored positions to a recently qualified Veterinary Surgeons, initially shadowing one of our two Small Animal Partners to master the art of consulting and managing cases, slowly building up your own caseload to manage more independently as your knowledge and confidence grows.

These are full-time positions for a 12-month period, starting each Spring/Summer, and include on call work with back up provided by the Partners. You will join a team which includes 7 other vets and a group of experienced nurses, all of whom will be committed to helping you succeed in your chosen career.

Previous interns who have thrived have been self-starters unafraid to ask questions and learn from colleagues, able to recognise the gaps in their skill set and actively seek ways to address them.
