Gill Cameron RVN

Gill qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 1999 and since then has worked in many places around the country before joining our Towcester team. Gill is passionate about rescuing animals and will often hand rear some of the animals who need rehoming through our practice. Gill has a son who is also animal mad! She has also completed an Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour so is often helping clients who wish to discuss any issues they may be experiencing with their cat.

 

Lisa Larmour RVN

Lisa qualified in 1997 as a veterinary nurse and loves her role! She especially enjoys emergency work and nursing hospital patients.

Lisa is married with children and has a very energetic lurcher called Percy as well as gerbils. When she is not running about after them she enjoys swimming and cycling when she has enough energy and is awake!

Caroline Hodgkiss RVN

Caroline is a very experienced registered veterinary nurse who assists our vets with procedures across the small animal clinics.

Melanie O’Brien RVN ISFM CertFN

Melanie has been nursing since 2003 & qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2005. Since then she has worked at 3 other veterinary clinics before joining Towcester Vets in November 2018.

She enjoys all aspects of nursing but has a particular interest in emergency & critical care, medical nursing & in-patient care. In September she completed her ISFM Certificate in Feline Nursing.

She is married & lives at home with her husband, their two children, two cats, two dogs, a lizard & a snake.

Jen Ostridge RVN

Jen started her veterinary nusting career 22 years ago, initially working alongside her studies until she completed her veterinary nursing degree in 2004. Since then, she has worked in a variety of practices and roles, including general practice, lecturing veterinary nursing to diploma and degree students and providing emergency care out-of-hours.

Her favourite areas of practice are nursing medical cases and neonatal care. Jen currently works flexible part-time hours around looking after her three young children. Her giddy working Cocker Spaniel Betsy and two cats Dizzy and Diesel. In her (very limited) spare time Jen enjoys spending time with her friends and family, cooking and swimming.

Billie Westley RVN

Billie joined Towcester Vets in 2014 and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2016. In July 2019, Billie initially moved over to our Weedon site to take on the senior nurse position and become a clinical coach for the student nurses in training.

In Summer 2023 Billie returned to work following maternity leave, she was then promoted to Head Nurse at our Burcote Road surgery in Towcester where she is now primarily based. Billie works closely with Claire to ensure the smooth running of the nursing team as a whole and maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care at the surgery.

Outside work she enjoys spending time with dogs Bella & Sherlock and her daughter Marnie.

Hollie O’Brien RVN

Hollie qualified as a veterinary nurse from the College of Animal Welfare in Potters Bar and joined Towcester Veterinary Centre in 2009. She has a keen interest in surgical nursing. Earlier in 2013 she gained the British Small Animal Veterinary Association’s (BSAVA) Veterinary Nurse Merit Award in Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy. Hollie has two rescue cats called Joey and Fidget. Outside of work she enjoys socialising with friends, reading, running and completing craft projects.

Claire Evans RVN

Claire qualified as a veterinary nurse in 1995 from the College of Animal Welfare, Godmanchester. She has been working at Towcester Veterinary Centre since 2010 and enjoys all aspects of nursing! Her main role includes being a dedicated theatre nurse and organising the puppy parties.  She works closely with Billie and the team to ensure the smooth running of the nursing team as a whole and maintaining the highest standards of veterinary care at the surgery.

She has pedigree Simmental cattle which she enjoys looking after and preparing for shows and sales. She also has two sheepdogs, Tilly and Archie, who she trains and competes in agility. She has also started training Hoopers with Archie.

Katy Carter RVN

Katy Carter joined Towcester Vets in September 2017 & has been working within the veterinary field since 2011. In 2020, Katy became our Nurse Manager and now oversees the nursing teams across our 4 sites. This role involves both clinical and administration work. Katy has always had a keen interest in nurse clinics, helping to make our Podgy Paws clinic a success! Outside of nursing, Katy is a keen member of Leicestershire Young Farmers & has recently retired as being county chairman. In any spare time, Katy enjoys spending time with her husband, young daughter and Jack Russell, Olive.
