Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon
Permanent or Fixed-term
Full or Part Time
Salary dependent on skills and experience
Towcester Veterinary Centre is a mixed practice located over 4 sites within and around the historic town of Towcester, Northamptonshire. Situated in the heart of Midlands, we have excellent transport links to many major cities – you can even be on the beach within 2 hours! We are an RCVS accredited, independent practice, with a friendly team who are dedicated to delivering great service with a personal touch.
Our Small Animal practice has attained Tier Three status and includes a hospital plus 2 smaller sites, one of which is shortly to transfer to a purpose-built building at one of our existing locations. You will have the opportunity to work in all three clinics, gaining exposure to both first opinion and referral cases. With two surgery certificate holders and one medicine certificate holder there is opportunity to work cases up to the highest degree – laparoscopy and endoscopy kit, as well as full ASIF/AO orthopaedic kit and an in-house lab support this.
In order to effectively service our increasing volume of work, we are looking to recruit individuals with strong clinical skills and a focus on client care. Our varied caseload means days are split between consultations, surgeries and emergency treatment – case continuity is important to us, and we try to offer this wherever possible. We will do our utmost to support you in developing your clinical, diagnostic and surgical skills, and if you have a particular area of interest we will aim to encourage and accommodate this.
We pride ourselves on the relationships we build with our clients, and so effective communication is key, along with professionalism, a good work ethic and strong time management skills. You must feel comfortable working flexibly and adapting to changing priorities as they occur with a can-do attitude, and ideally a sense of humour! You will be working alongside our team of 9 experienced clinicians. We encourage a collaborative approach with all members of our team including nursing and support staff.
The successful applicant will have a degree in veterinary surgery and membership of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, plus the right to work in the UK. We are flexible! We are happy to consider both recently qualified and more experienced Veterinary Surgeons (a good attitude and ability is more important than time in practice) and can offer permanent positions or a fixed term contract, on either a full time or part time basis.
We will offer a competitive salary as part of the remuneration package – benefits include Private Healthcare, generous CPD allowance, RCVS fees paid and staff discount.
To be considered for this role please submit your CV plus a covering letter outlining why you are interested in joining our Practice to Sue Adams, HR Manager by clicking ‘apply now’ below.
We are committed to equality of opportunity for all and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds.
