Towcester Vets is proud to offer a Surgical Referrals Service.
As a respected and well-established RCVS Tier 3 veterinary hospital, our surgeons accept orthopaedic and soft tissue referrals from across Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and beyond. We welcome both pet owners and veterinary professionals to contact us to discuss individual cases.
The Towcester Vets Referral Service opened over 15 years ago. This service continues to be lead by two of our experienced Veterinary Surgeons Dr Cat Beecroft and Helen Pope. Both hold the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. The Referral Service was set up by us to bridge the gap between the large referral centres and general practice. We have always prided ourselves on offering affordable specialised surgeries – carried out by competent certificate holding surgeons.
We can provide price guides/estimates for all our procedures and are more than happy to discuss options.

Our team are very aware veterinary medicine should be about providing practical choices to ensure that appropriate care is delivered to that particular pet and owner. Our vets explore all options and support clients to make choices that work best for them.
Orthopaedic
We offer lameness investigations, fracture repair, patellar luxation, ligament/tendon or joint injuries repair, and cranial cruciate ligament rupture repair.
Soft tissue
These referrals are commonly made up of, but not limited to – ear surgery, BOAS surgery, airway surgery, abdominal surgery, thoracotomy, urogenital surgery and large tumour removal.
Endoscopy
Our certificate holding veterinary surgeon Jen Calder is happy to discuss referrals for cases that may benefit from endoscopy.
Laparoscopy
We were one of the first general practices to offer laparoscopic spays as routine, over the last 15 years we have completed around 2000. This is still offered as a package (alongside traditional spays) for all clients – in house and referral. We also welcome other laparoscopic referrals for procedures such as cryptorchid castrations or biopsies.
