Repeat Prescription Request

Towcester Vets’ on-site pharmacy can supply clients with all the necessary medicines and nutritional supplements to help your pets stay in optimum health.

To use this service, you must be a registered client, and your pet must have been seen by one of our Vets in the previous 6 months. Contact us to book a meds check.

Ordering

Please give a minimum of 48 hours’ notice when ordering any repeat prescriptions to allow the team time to get them arranged.

New guidance

Please be aware that the RCVS (Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) have updated their ‘Under Care’ guidance as of January 2024.

One of the key changes to the guidance to all veterinary surgeons’ states:

“You must always perform a physical examination in the following circumstances:

1. where a notifiable disease is suspected
2. when prescribing controlled drugs
3. when prescribing antibiotics, antifungals, antiparasitics or antivirals”

 What this means for you

• Your pet must have been seen, specifically for the medication that has been requested, and have an active drug authorisation for this medication on the record.
• For flea and worming (antiparasitics), we recommend that you discuss this each year at your pet’s annual vaccination/health check appointment.

• Written prescription £19.21 (per item, per pet)

We are unable to give a refund or dispose of any unwanted/unused medications that have already left our premises.

If you have selected ‘Deliver by post’, we will confirm if your items are eligible for home delivery.

P&P fee: We charge postage & packaging at cost with recorded delivery by Royal Mail. We will let you know costs when we confirm your order.
